“What is SEO?” is probably the most common and complex question that we get from our clients and it’s not an easy question to answer. Since “What is SEO?” requires different answers for different people I’m going to break the answer down into a long version and a short version. If you’re looking for an overview that will give you a basic understanding of SEO without a whole bunch of nerd talk then the short version should suffice and you can skip the long version inetcpl.cpl 다운로드. The short version:

SEO stands for search engine optimization and it is the process by which websites attempt to be ranked on Google and other search engines. Those search terms are known as keywords and can be anything from a single word to a phrase depending on how specific the request is. The long version:

The most important thing to understand about SEO is that no one knows for sure how Google decides how to rank web pages. We do know that over 200 different factors come into play but these factors (and how important each one is) are constantly changing.  If I tried to address all of these factors today this post would be obsolete before it was finished, but we will address the basics since they seem to stay the same and tend to be the most important factors anyway.  The number one basic factor that we utilize in our SEO approach is this – Don’t try to trick Google, they’re smarter than us.

To understand what I mean by this we must understand why Google exists and how they make their money Download more dinners. Google’s job is to provide users the information that they are looking for and the way that it gets paid for this is by advertising to its loyal users. If Google starts showing users information other than exactly what they’re looking for then those users stop using Google and revenue drops. Ideally you’ll want to have about 300 words or more of content for your page or post. It is extremely important at this point to note that the keyword is also in the content of the page multiple times but not so many that it distracts from reading the article.

Remember, we’re trying to find that happy medium where the reader finds the content engaging, but Google knows that the page is about (the content) what we said it was it about (keyword) html apk. The keyword  appears in the page title,  the page URL and the page content, these are the basic building blocks of SEO that all highly ranking websites employ and that all successful SEO strategies are built upon.

These building blocks are crucial but what if no one is searching for our keywords? We’ve already discussed that writing for the reader trumps writing for Google but there are ways we can tweak this. We do this via a tool called Google Keyword Planner that allows us to see actual data on what terms have been searched on Google in the last 30 days and their frequency. Google holds a lot of this data pretty close to the vest but allows us enough information to determine search trends. I’m not going to get into how to sign up for, or use Keyword Planner in this post but there is plenty of information readily available and I encourage you to research it.

By accessing Google’s data we can establish what keywords we should be using. Remember, we’re not just grabbing the most searched keywords (Kim Kardashian), we’re using the best keywords for our page based on our content. We can play with these words a bit as long as we’re not making it awkward for the reader. For example, your page is about an animal hospital so changing ‘animal hospital’  to ‘vet clinic’ or ‘veterinary hospital’ in your content would probably still feel natural to your reader. If you change your keywords, make sure that you also change them in your content, title and URL.

In summary, the best way to start off your SEO campaign is to write for your reader first, generate your keyword, title and URL for each page based on your content, check those keywords with Keyword Planner and only make changes in them if it makes sense in the context of your content. These are the basic fundamentals of SEO and have remained so through many iterations of Google. They may not seem flashy or overly fancy but they have a proven track record and are they are the basis of all of our successful SEO campaigns.

SEO is an extremely complex and difficult thing to do right and the “right way” is constantly changing, but these tips should get you off to a good start. Thanks for sticking with me until the end and I hope that you now have a little clearer picture of what SEO is and how it works.
